They Don't Make Them Like This Any More

OK. Going a lot better today. More running. Surprised this cube farmer hasn't had a heart attack yet from it. Unfortunately, no Erica lookalike sightings today. Feel better after getting the Temple web site updated and I'm going to put in time to prepare for fixing what was called about yesterday. But first goning to make Chicago Bar Mitzvah reservations for October. Go Cubs! Not that the National League means anything to me but a World Series will shut up the flaming liberal relatives and others at the festivities in October. Also good, that is the date certain where Illinois beats MeatChicken. Yay!

Beer to follow CaptainSQL Fixes the Nasty Weekend Call. Babe Magnitude is there but going slow. Possible violation of CaptainSQL policy about dipping pen in company ink. Don't think I'll follow up on that. Others are taking their leisurely time. I tell 'ya, though, no chick can resist music like in the posting below!

Why can't my governor, Ted "Bud" Strickland do any of this? I'm not even going to bother asking this of Jimmy DiMora, Tim Hagan, or other CuyCo. losers. They're pretty much limited to trying to keep their faces out of the KFC bucket.

Pryor and Beanie tore up the field against the Penguins today. The purple prevailed. Almost all is well in the Big 10. Now up, a look at USC. A call around 1:00 PM about a runaway program yanked me out of possible management haze and back into the real world of techie reality.

Football season at last! I'm riveted to the tube for the N.U-Syracuse game. Well, as riveted as you can get. At least it's Big 10 vs. the Big Easy. Let's go purple! Glance over there and have a look at NU's Tyrell Sutton. You will be hearing from him in the NFL. The real game, OSU still monopolized by the greedheads at the Big 10 Network.

Work all week was stress. It looked like trying to stuff 25 pounds of sugar into a 10 pound bag, that bag being me. At end of week, suprise common sense and backbone from our management team. Also invited to take management courses. Been a long time since I was totally useless, and in those days didn't have to manage with the burden of the flavor of the month buzzword. Still, it may be OK, given this team. That can change on a dime, though.

This week has been a real grind. Deferred martinis are on order for the evening. Very rough at work. A trip down I-71 helped, once again, ZZTop blaring at full blast on I-71. I'm really worried about my blogLineage now. Inspiration has been the immortal Acidman, and the lovely NeoNeocon. I always thought it was too silly to be true, but the recent interest in Mr. Sarah Pallin by blogmom brings up horrible repressed memories of BlogChildhood

Martha, check in on the young'un. He's stackin' his M&M's again, not eatin' the dang things. GotDamn, the boy ain't right!

This one is for my daughter. You'll always be my little girl, so in order to save time here is my assessment of the boys you will meet in the upcoming school year.

Love, Dad.

Very busy taking my daughter here and there in the last two days before school starts again. Also big deal project heating up and is exhausting. Energy running down. Getting those that know better to move off they ass is like pulling teef. Psychotic ex will have a patented fit when she learns of daughter's progress. So tired. Project going slowly. Senior staff starting to sound like bullshit attorneys.. zzz. zzzzz. ZZTop. Tired of arguing with blowhards... so tired. TV on to Kumbiyahland. Bush. Bush... Too tired to think rationally or manage the project. It's messed up because of President Bush. Too lazy to take responsibility. Bush did it. It's Bush's fault for results. Yes... Chimpy McHitler no smart. Chimpy McHitler start war so he get free barrell of energy. Chimpy McHitler do bad Oil for Food program. Chimpy McHitler own stock in the Haliburton. Chimpy McHitler feed on the bones of Iraqi children. Chimpy McHitler mean to French. Aaaaaaaaaaaagggghhhhh!

Busy as a clam this Sunday before Monday, wrapping up two irritating AM calls from work and finally defusing myself from the other Senior DBA bullshine to allow myself to return to work without going ballistic. Also theraputically painted another slice of the kitchen, and next, window stuff like verticals, horizontals and diagonals and whatnot for the windows. Hell, I don't know shit about interior design. Just no polka dots with stripes, right? Charming daughter heads back to school this week as we plumb the depts of college admission, to be followed by college financing, to be followed by massive debt.

Trying to figure out where I fit in here.

Time Releases Annual List Of Least Influential Americans

|
Thanks to my loyal readers for the encouragement on the previous post. That helped a lot. So did a quiet night on-call. The worst thing today was the Browns defense, or lack thereof. Better get the starters healthy, or it'll be time to drop the Browns off in the Supebowl. About 1 hour after a hearty CaptainTaco microwaved burrito.

Actually, since my daughter's mom has been on one of her patented magical, mystery tours, where she doesn't tell my kid where she's going or when she'll be back, we got a lot done. Met with the pooh-bahs of the High School, namely the Superintendant, Principal, and Head of Guidance Counselling. She was expecting a lot of crap about her plan to graduate a year early. Actually, these guys were great. I really wish I could reveal more of my CaptainSQL secret identity by naming the school district because they deserve a lot of credit. Always have been helpful.

Do need to clear up some possible misconceptions from the previous post. My daughter becoming frummer (more religious) was entirely of her interest and doing. Nope, it flies directly in the face (as in the Spike Jones 1942 hit) of 10 years of the finest Kumbiyah ordered by the evil Judge Christine McMonagle. Ha ha. The congregation from the past performing the parental alienation against me was from the teeny-weeny extremely left-wing Reconstuctionist branch. These guys are so itchy to goose step to whatever shizz the New York Times puts out and to blame President Bush for earthquakes in Chile that they can barely keep their clothes on. Once she got into High School she pretty much started seeing these hippies for what they are and bailed out PDQ fast. Double ha ha. Also, she's a normal teenage girl. The Orthodox haven't been impacted by the Kumbayista initiative to scientifically remove all testosterone from any males.

The only question I've got for the Frumsters is this: Given all the wonderful food in the world that you could Kosher, such as Bratwurst, or some turkey or beef variety of bacon, and many varieties of beer, why was one of the first products microwave burritos? At least ther could have been some dang quesedillas.

Anyway, my weekend work of rock relocation is done, and more football is on the way.

Bummed out. Daughter won't be able to make the Chitown Bar Mitzvah due to complications, including fear of the Psychotic Ex reaction. Damn sad. Also had to discuss why I'm staying with my congregation, even though she's become more observant and won't go there. Basically, had to point out a cancer threat I had back in 2004, while her congregation was giving me the shizz. You can probably find some references to this puckey buried somewhere in the archives. Had to inform her that I made plans at that time, and that when the time does come for me my Rabbi will officiate.

Man that's too creepy and depressing. And I remain on call this weekend.

Can we even do this any more?

Sunday, August 17, 2008

I've been looking for this for a long time.

Those boys sure can store corn!

|

OK. So here's more.

Yeah there's more. My daughter shows up this afternoon and notifies me her mom is off on some magical mystery tour, somewhere undisclosed, for an indefinite time. She did it before, last year, visiting a friend out of state that interfered in custody fights, and did every damn thing she could to yank my kid out to the Arizona desert, where she would have been in a shitty foster home the minute her mom got sick, which happens frequently. Fought that one in 05/06 and won it. But not until there was a lot of grief. Yeah, this whorebag inserted herself as my ex's clergy simultaneously to writing the cusotdy request for her to the court. The court, of course was too stupid and crooked to make an issue of this.

Also my daughter informed me that while I was beating my head against the wall last December/January taking her to visit her recovering mom, for 7 weeks, every day, without fail, the Congregation with whom the mom had been affiliated continued to try to interfere with cusody. I told them to stop contact with me in the spring of 2007, and blocked their calls here because they demanded that I give up my rights to take care of my daughter in 2005, when her mom was in the hospital. This was within a month of me burying my own mother, too. I believe that a restraining order is in order in this case.

So, what's it gonna be, shitbags? The kid is about ready to shove off to college. How's 'bout stepping right up and shouldering the driving? The tuition costs? And facing up to the fact that she sees you liberal pukes for the cruds you are. It is gratifying that she has come to see this. Now these assholes can fuck off.

PsychoEx is on warpath, heap big time! Won't "release" my kid to me until way late tonight, messing up her opportunity to finish her homework. Thank you, Judge Christine McMonagle and feNazis everywhere for providing a court system where shit like this has absolutely no legal remedy. What a surprise that I got those strange messages from the Support Agency yesterday.

Well, I'm tired of 13 years of this shit. My kid is on the verge of graduating High School. If she wants to be rid of this, she can live with me or can just graduate early as she's planned. I'm on call this week so there won't be any fast and exciting legal action. And I'm going to tell her just that when she comes here. McMonagle and the County flunkies can suck my ass.

How odd. Started blogging about shitbag County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora a few posts ago and the Cuyahoga County Support Enforcement Agency sends me three notices in the mail today. No complaints from the ex wife, we've even been seen in public together. No job change. No change in custody status. No more shitty private school tuition. So where does this come from? Don't the crooks at the County have their hands full taking payoffs and hiring defense attorneys? Also, this was the time I started posting about Judge Christine McMonagle, for whom bitter criticism is long overdue.

And thanks for the memories. They say bad things happen in threes. This would be #3, after Bernie Mac and Issac Hayes.

Here is a vital link for those of you that are scientifically inclined: Potrzebie measurement. Now convert that to furlongs per fortnight.

Tuesday, August 12, 2008

Cappy's music world took a big hit over the weekend, with the loss of Issac Hayes. A memorable man, even before South Park. Rest in Peace, Issac. You will be missed.

Back to happier things. My daughter is staying with me this week, working on homework and surfing all her High School stuff all over the net. She had a great time in Israel. Visited all over the place. Paintball ambushes, flipping off U.N. Helicopters. I wish I could flip off a U.N. Helicopter.

Fantasy Football draft came out OK. I've got Tony Romo. Pretty decent RB and TE also. Other positions, not so much. But getting a stud QB or RB is key.

Captain SQL's They'll Do It Every Time. Our asshole vendor decided to change one of their spiffy new features from doing a truncate on a partition to performing deletes. This brings in the entire world of logging and turns our spiffy new feature into a spiffy old festering bag of wombat manure. This was xplained in a completely unannounced and obscure version of the SQL Reference. Nice going, dirtabags. A tip of the Captain SQL Hat goes to Mick Belker, of Hill Street, for delivering my complaint to said vendor.

Can I Make This Any Clearer?

Republicans in Cleveland limp and ineffective. We need a guy like Neidermeyer to clean house, especially for Jimmy DiMora. Also Timmy and Petey and the raft of shitty judges. This goes out to them:

Listen up, you nauseating pile of blubber. Your days are numbered at Faber. You and all your sick Delta buddies. Meantime, your ass belongs to me. Now, drop and give me 20.

I Still Rule

Just look at these guys. Pathetic. I am CaptainSQL, one of the last remaining American DBA heroes. These guys aren't man enough to launder my tights. Or hold my cape. Stand back while I strike fear in the hearts of developers and project managers alike. Snort.

I Want Candy!

|
My kid landed here yesterday from her 5 weeks in Israel. Also, we picked her up and took her home, too, always a good idea in parenting. Hasn't stopped talking since. The paintball impacts still visible, and she'll crash sometime today. Then off to the wonderful world of college admissions, after Tish B'Av this weekend.

Very bad performance from our technical support on my incumbent program this week. I'm about to sign on to the latest hot new platform probably middle of next year, and that's going to be a wrenching change from being King of the Hill on this platform, or at least Hank Hill. Reasoning that it will be a long, though haul through the common error messages of the new platform and DBMS, the last decade in front of the tube and taking my kid here and there and flopping down on a barstool may not put me in the best stead for this task, I took a run today. Haven't done that in nigh onto 40 years. Because I basically hate it. Anyway, pant, wheeze I'm back on the interweb. Excuse me coughs up part of a lung. Much better now.

Also, when slumping back home from said run, there was this chick running in my direction. Closer, she got, closer with every step. It looked like a local version of Erica. Man, I've gotta devote more time to martinis.

Time for Cappy to get ready for his fall visit with Kumbiyista relatives. Neal Patrick Harris explains it all!

Still waiting until pre-season starts on Thursday. For those tracking NeoNeocon's stories about getting the heave-ho from liberal former friends and relatives, take solace in the slackerTV available and unavoidable in commercials like this one. And, as Red said, no hippie stink either.

Browns play their first pre-season game Thursday, when I plan to be solidly ensconced with martinis. My daughter is having a great summer in Israel. Apparently the more Orthodox MOT in charge finally broke down and listened to Cappy, and took this GUYK's advice. A lot of shooting fun on this summer program. Damn, if they had that back in the day, I would have played hooky a lot less.

Now I get to enjoy the smug smugness of smirking my way through liberal relatives rants this fall. I'll just sneer through the usual blathermouthing.

Test like crazy, you Code Monkeys!

Looks like Sitemeater and InternetExploder aren't working and playing well with others, least of all themselves. Vendors seem to be in the time honored Tech tradition of pointing fingers at each other. The answer, in the title of this posting. My project management advice to Sitemeter, Work harder, you slugs. I see this a lot in real life, so am too lazy to fix it here or download Firefox. That'd be like throwing out your TV because you get bullshit MSM networks. But I only mean that in the best sense of the word.

See, they were right. Once full screen editors happened, all heck ensued.
